About Me

I am a behavioral neurologist and cognitive neuroscientist with expertise in functional and structural brain imaging.  I am interested in a systems-level understanding of the basis of language and other aspects of cognitive function, in health and disease.   I am specifically interested in the role of the left temporal lobe in lexical and semantic processing, as a paradigm for the operation of higher-order association cortex, and in the alterations of systems that accompany neurological disease, especially stroke, epilepsy and degenerative brain disease.  I am also interested in developing and validating new imaging methods for application to clinical populations.
